Glass Etched MRAD ELR Extreme Long Range Reticle
The MRAD ELR reticle is designed to allow the shooter to measure targets to determine the distance and then make corrections by either dialing or using the reticle for bullet drop compensation. The .04 MRAD Floating Center Dot does not obscure the target while still providing a precise aiming point. The Christmas Tree style reticle provides .2 MRAD windage and elevation correction holds for long range precision while also providing .5 MRAD correction for situations where speed is critical. Since the windage and elevation adjustments match the reticle values, you can easily make adjustments quickly and easily by using the reticle as a reference in relation to the impact of the bullet. The FFP (First Focal Plane) design allows you to use the reticle at any magnification. For accuracy, the reticle is broken up into .2 Miliradian increments as well as .5 Miliradian increments along the horizontal and vertical Crosshair with larger hash marks indicating 1 Mil increments. The upper vertical and horizontal crosshairs of the reticle also feature .1 Mil grids for extremely precise target measurement making the MRAD PRS reticle an incredibly versatile design. Ratings & Reviews
I had the privilege to test the new TRACT TORIC UHD 4.5-30 x 56 34 mm rifle scope, and I am thoroughly impressed. The riflescope is built like a tank, and I found it to be of the highest quality. Parallax and reticle subtension was calibrated perfectly, and the riflescope tracked perfectly. The premium SCHOTT glass created a bright clear image, and the 30 power magnification was excellent for seeing my groups at 100 yards and reading mirage at 1000. I mounted the TRACT TORIC UHD 4.5-30 x56 34 mm rifle scope on my semi-custom 6.5 Creedmoor Howa 1500, which was mated to an MDT ACC Chassis and, after zeroing, had first-round hits out to 800 yards in miserable windy conditions. I found the christmas tree reticle helpful during the zero process, and self spotting misses past 800 yards due to erratic wind. The reticle was intuitive and not cluttered with unnecessary hash marks. The TRACT TORIC UHD 4.5-30 x56 34 mm rifle scope would shine on long-range target rifle, precision competition rifle, or a long-range hunting rifle. It is a tad on the heavy side for a backpacking rifle, if you are planning on hiking 10+ miles through the mountains with a heavy pack, but if you are hunting off horseback or an ATV, it would be fine. For a backpacking rifle, I personally would prefer the TRACT TORIC UHD 4-20 30mm. If you like 34mm riflescopes and a Horus style reticle, this scope is for you. This scope retails for around 1700, which is extremely reasonable. Scopes of this quality are usually found in the $2500 price range. You cannot go wrong with this riflescope.
I’ve had previous experience with the Tract line of products including their binos and Toric HD line up. Those products impressed me and performed well with excellent image quality and low-light performance. After trying the new 4.5-30x56 Toric Ultra HD, it’s safe to say that TRACT has once again delivered exceptional performance while not losing their high-value focus.
This new Toric Ultra HD has first class fit and finish, feels solid, looks great, and delivers in the optical clarity department providing great color and contrast even in difficult-to-see environments. It also tracks well and with no issues from 100 to 1000 yards and back to 100. It held is zero and provided an excellent shooting experience.
The Toric Ultra HD is one heck of a scope at an incredible price point. It seems to consistently deliver what you’d expect from a top tier optic, but is very affordable to the precision shooter.
I had the opportunity to test the new 4.5-30x56 Toric and I can say with the utmost confidence I fully and totally recommend this scope. If you’re looking for a FULLY featured tactical scope this has pretty much every feature you can think of.
I ran this scope at several PRS style local matches (all top 5 finishes) as well as in the field for training and it held up to the test no question about it.
With its full line of features from the 25m-infinity parallax, locking turrets, illumination, zero stop, and more; you are really getting a great multipurpose scope. You can put this on your favorite .22LR and then swap it to your favorite centerfire rifle and have 1 scope that can fill multiple roles.
It has all the industry standard characteristics such as a 34mm main tube, 56mm objective, zero stop, etc.
The glass is Schott glass. Schott is a manufacturer of high end glass typically found in tier 1 European scopes. I was able to test this scope out to 1790 yards and the glass provided me the ability to see my miss and correct for a 3rd round impact at that distance.
In addition to the glass, another necessity to shoot those types of distances is making sure you have enough elevation. This scope has over 38 mils of elevation from top to bottom, which is absolutely HUGE. The reticle is very competition appropriate and one of my favorite designs currently. It provides a ton of additional hold over in case you really want to stretch your distance and dial max elevation while also holding extra in the reticle.
Overall it’s a scope that I fully expect to see on many rifles in both competition and recreational shooting in the near future. Tract as a company is great to deal with and have built a business model where you don’t have to worry about price gouging and it affords them the ability to produce and sell a scope at a very competitive price point when in reality this scope should probably be $2,000+.
Overall build quality is excellent with a feature set identical to the 4-20x50 model including fully illuminated reticle and locking turrets with adjustable zero stop on the elevation turret.
Locking Turrets are crisp and tactile with a audible report as well.
The new reticle is excellent with 2 tenth hash marks on the elevation and horizontal stadia and precise floating center dot.
The scope tracked perfect through the 35.9 mils of adjustment on a tall target as well as during testing it was spot on from zero at 100 meters to targets at 1023 yards and then out to 2224 yards.
The optical clarity and eyebox are very good for the price range it is offered at, and the low light capabilities where excellent.
Overall it is another well put together scope by Tract Optics with more magnification along with more elevation travel then the 4-20 and should be suitable for anything from target shooting at short to long range.
