How many full turret rotations do I get after I set the zero stop?

It would impossible to tell where in the adjustment range the scope will zero. For this reason a sloped base is recommended to take advantage of the largest part of the adjustment range.

The result allows less light and increases the depth of field, allowing you to read mirage over a much longer distance. With your objective lens at full diameter you are reading mirage over only a few yards. The mirage may have stopped or actually be running in the opposite direction closer to the firing line. Shooters notice the lines on the target are more defined with the mirage cap in place, especially on hot afternoons with heavy mirage.
